United Peoples Freedom Alliance Says “ have Sealed” Victory
The United People Freedom Alliance (UPFA) stalwarts at a press briefing held in Colombo yesterday (January 23) said that they have no any doubt over the victory of their candidate President Mahinda Rajapaksa in the Presidential Election on January 26.
UPFA General Secretary Susil Premajayantha said that the UPFA was conducting a well organized and dynamic election campaign all over the island while highly attended political rallies were conducted with the participation of its candidate President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
“We are very confident that we will have a landslide victory and the country will speak for years and years over this victory, which defeated a greedy so called ‘politico’, by a person who really loves the country”, said United Peoples Freedom Alliance General Secretary as well as the Education Minister Premajayantha.
The UPFA General Secretary Minister Premajayantha further added that the opposition’s common candidate had announced that he would punish military officers who are violating military rules making statements for media and the Minister Premjayantha queried as to what perilous situation it would be if in case General Sarath Fonseka assumed power.
Minister also added that war heroes, who led their brigades in the battle zone, discharging valuable tasks in the victory of the humanitarian operations, appeared on TV and had spoken to print and electronic media to educate the public about the real victory of the humanitarian operations.
The Minister asked how it be an erroneous action and pointed out the danger of transferring power to a person who lack of basic political knowledge which should be acquired from being among the general public.
In the meantime, Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) parliamentarian and Environment and Natural Resources Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka who addressed the press briefing said that as Mahinda Rajapaksha is the president of this country today, it will not be changed by any force even in the morning of January 27.
