Sarath Fonseka accepts he has no vote

Colombo, 26 January, (Asiantribune.com):

Retired General Sarath Fonseka did not cast his vote in today’s Presidential Election, where he was a candidate.

He had publicly acknowledged that he did not have a vote in the electoral register.

The law of the land is very clear that to contest in any elections, one should have a vote.

Now the question is being raised whether his candidature could be acceptable in the eyes of law.

It is now left to the Election Commission or the Supreme Court to decide on this issue.

This is funny as ever.

Now what do the JVP and UNP have to do and say with regard to this?

Funny as Fonny. Shame on you

Funny as Fonny.

Shame on you

Do not forget that there are

Do not forget that there are hundreds and thiusands without a vote in the electoral register due to being displaced by the war and those who say it is funny as fonny did not mind SF not being registered as a voter during the war. They hailed him as a hero then regardless of his "dual loyalty" or "him not being registered as a voter". There may be many others who were hailed as heros but not being registered as voters due to them having no time to fill the householder's list.

Make no mistakes. We do not

Make no mistakes.
We do not mind Sarath Fonseka's bid for presidency even though he has no party, no experience.
We still do not mind he has no vote, even to vote for himself, due to dual loyality because as the election commisioner states in SRILANKA it is not illegal to contest without being registered.(an issue the next gov should address).

But we do mind, his insults to the armed forces and the disrepute he brought to the country, yet trying to be the leader of the very same country.

...But we do mind that the

...But we do mind that the General was not transparent by NOT revealing to the voting public and to his supporters in particular that there was a problem with his Voter Registration. Some remedial measures may have been sought had he been open about it...but as it is, his candidacy is badly tainted by so many of his own doings after he decided to throw in his hat into the political arena.
