Hundreds of govt employees in Northwest Pakistan found linked to Taliban - -Action against Taliban-linked employees ordered.

The North West Frontier Province of Pakistan has ordered speeding up action against those government employees in the province who have alleged links with militants.

The Chief Administrator of the province, Haider Khan Hoti has given one month’s time for action against the employees who are allegedly linked to the militants and the terrorists
An official communication of the NWFP government says the chief minister after chairing a meeting of the committee formed for initiating action against the Taliban-linked government employees has ordered to expedite the action.

The committee composed of Senior Minister Rahimdad Khan, Bashir Bilour and the administrative heads of the departments also submitted the report about based on information about the government employees who had supported militancy in Malakand division, one of the worst militancy-hit areas in Pakistan.

The meeting was told that so far 55 employees have been sacked on the charges of having links with militants or for supporting them.

Action is being processed against 83 other government officials whose links with the militants have been established but the chief minister had ordered to complete the action within one month.

The authorities have also found at least more than 120 employees of education department, 112 of health department, 4 of police department, 2 of watershed management and 3 of public health and engineering had supported the militancy and harbored the militants.

The officials say action show cause has been issued to 16 employees in Swat and 4 in upper Dir has been charge sheeted.
