Sri Lanka Parliament To Be Dissolved Soon – SLFP General Secretary

Colombo, 29 January, (Asiantribune.com):

"The government has always followed humanitarian processes and never influenced anyone," says Minister Maithreepala Sirisena, Chief Secretary of SLFP, at a media briefing today at BMICH auditorium. He exclaimed, "The high time has arrived for us to build up the future of our country based on the landslide victory of the President Rajapaksa".

Minister Sirisena said that the country had shown its gratitude to the President by electing him again with a significant voter turnout. He also emphasized that the defeat of the LTTE terror outfit which halted the country’s development process and implemented mega development processes all over the island are the two major reasons for the people to rally round him.

He further said “as the election was over, now country awaits for a good leader who can strengthen the country’s economy. People have with a significant majority had decided it is the President Rajapksha who can drive the country for immense development with the ability to rub the shoulders with any leader in the world in this process.’’

Agriculture Minister further added that half the number of voters who voted for the opposition’s common candidate have already realized now that President Rajapaksha is the most suitable leader for the country, after realizing that the Opposition was playing the “Gobble’s theory”.

Minister Sirisena said that the government will soon dissolve the Parliament and go for fresh elections.

Adding further, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said that as soon as the General Elections was over, the government would go for the local government elections.

The duo also reiterated that the United Peoples Freedom Alliance had already started the proceedings for the general elections informing its allied parties to work on the coming parliamentary elections.
