Political pundits predict Fonseka will now be discarded by the Opposition allies

Though Sarath Fonseka, the opposition common candidate in the Presidential election, has come forward to contest in the Parliamentary General Election, it is learnt he might be accommodated as a minor partner in the coalition led by Ranil Wickremasinghe, the Leader of the United National Party.
The UNP, Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, JVP and others came forward to have Sarath Fonseka as their common candidate only for the Presidential election and it is not necessary he should be also allowed to lead the opposition group even in the forthcoming parliamentary election.
It is learnt that Western Peoples Front led by Mano Ganeshan, Mangala Samaraweerar’s Sri Lanka Freedom Party (Mahajana Wing), Rauff Hakeem’s Sri Lanka Muslim Congress might as usual will be in the Coalition led by Ranil Wickremasinghe, but it is still not clear whether Janatha Vimukthi Perumuna, the ultra Marxist Party would also come forward to ally themselves with the UNP.
In case the JVP decides to contest alone, it would be a foregone conclusion that the party would be defeated in almost all the electorates in the country.
It was pointed out that in the 2005 November Presidential election Ranil Wickremasinghe polled 4,706,366 which was 48.43 % of the total vote polled in that election, whereas the common opposition candidate polled only 4,173, 185 which amounted to 40.15 per cent of the total votes polled in the January 2010 Presidential election.
Now it is learnt that Ranil Wickremasinghe has begun to reassert his position as the leader of the UNP and the leader of the United National front, the opposition coalition front.
Therefore it is unlikely that the UNF would allow Sarath Fonseka to lead its parliamentary election campaign.
It can also be seen that none of the parties that supported him in the presidential elections is near him after the results. Nobody has come forward to give even voice for Fonseka, who is centre of several controversies, and they have left him to fend for himself.
Now it has become clear Fonseka’s presense with them it a liability and not credibility. With so many charges and accusations facing Fonseka, who will feel comfortable to defend him endlessly? Political pundits predict the retired General will be a loner fighting his own battle.
It is learnt that Government has enough material to arrest and bring him before the courts, but they are not in a hurry to make such a move immediately.
It is learnt that there are enough implicating materials available with the Government and they will be releasing them on a staggered basis so that country will be able to know the intensity of the allegations against the retired General Sarath Fonseka before considering to bring him before a court of law, it is learnt.

'Kalavedda' is hiding
People who know SF will not glorify him because he has never been a man of words. He scoops to very low level by his stupid ambition. An ungrateful person of his stature can do many more harm to his followers. If he can be that nasty to the person who gave him the chance to be the Army commander, what else you can expect of him. A person who rose due to seniority not by quality, boasted about changing the system by promoting his friends. If not for the gallant officers who died in the war, SF would have only be a “Kalavedda”

Well. It will be a best seller if somebody writes about it. The writer must add an epilogue to describe how RW had the last laugh leaving the JVP and rebels in the UNP to ponder over what went wrong.

Though SF had only 40 days political experience he manage to tie the rascals who are prepared to do any dirty thing to grab the political power ,into a one bundle and exposed to the whole world. what SF did is an extention work of "appi wenuwen appi" programme initiated during the war time.Though he appeared on behalf of the whole oppotion parties he has given so much of clues to his followers what is happening around.
