Danuna Tilakaratne, the Arms Dealer son-in-law of the defeated common opposition presidential candidate Sarath Fonseka, is reportedly seeking ways and means of slipping out of the country.
Latest reports revealed that he along with Major General Mahesh Senanayake (still in service) was seen visiting lawyers offices to obtain legal opinion to get out of the country to escape investigation and court action against him.
Asian Tribune learnt that even if he flee the country and goes to Oklohama, he faces the same flight in USA.
Already Asian Tribune has brought to the attention of the law enforcing authorities in the US and they have cast a wide net and waiting for him to fall head on in their net.
In the meantime, it is said that in case the government pass on his case to the Bribery Commission for investigation it will be an open and shut case and he will be arrested and remanded and it will be a non-bailable offence.
It is also reliably learnt that Danuna Tilakaratne has today a date with the police.
Even earlier he was first summoned by the Police to call over on 20th of January, but for some unknown reason the police had reportedly said that they are busy on the scheduled day they invited him to record his statement and had asked Danuna Tilakaratne to show up on a different day.
Once the notice was sent to Danuna Tilakaratne to come over for questioning on January 20, Sarath Fonseka in an election rally had publicly warned that senior officers of the Armed and the Police forces who are engaged in a campaign to harass his son in law will have to find new jobs after January 27.
Similarly speaking at a press conference held at his residence in Colombo on January 28 , he said his and his son-in-law’s passports have been blacklisted preventing them going abroad and a group of CID officers had come to the residence the previous day afternoon to arrest Danuna Tilakaratne, his son-in-law.
Recently Asian Tribune also alleged that Danuna Tilakaratne was also involved in the supply of arms to the LTTE and also a few foreign terrorists organizations were in touch with him for the supply of arms.
As more and more alleagtions about Danuna Tilakaratne, the arms dealer son-in law of Sarath Fonseka begins to emerge, as far as Asian Tribune is concerned it is an open and shut case.
The police have already arrested Randy DeHoedt, (Danuna Tilakaratne’s manager). Also according to information Police has already interrogated Lakshman Abeyasekera, the Director of HiCorp Company of the Arms Dealer in Colombo.
Also it is learnt that they have summoned a few others also for investigation on the subject of Danuna Tilakaratne’s Arms deals.
Earlier, in the Asian Tribune report it was pointed out that in the the Army HQ offices, a few Generals and others got involved in the HiCorp deals under the instruction of Gen Fonseka and they all covered up the issue.
Gen Mahesh Senanayake who was officer commandant of the 51 Division and now he has been brought to Colombo and ordered to stay in his house in Colombo , Gen Jayanath Perera is undergoing training in the National Defence College in China, Brig Fydel Meedin who was formerly the communication specialist and now the logistic office chief in Jaffna.
Already Retired Col Rohan Wijesundara has been arrested on 27th evening and was handed over to the Police for investigation.
Also Asian Tribune reported about retired Brigadier Asoka Thoradeniya who continues to remain as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Petroleum Corporation.
So far Sri Lankan Army has not taken any action against these high ranking army officers who aided and abetted Danuna Tilakaratne in the illegal arms deal.
