Danuna in Hospital to avoid police interrogation
Latest reports revealed that Retired General Sarath Fonseka’s Arms Dealer Son-in-law has got himself admitted in the Asiri Hospital - a private hospital, located in Narehenpita, Colombo 5, to avoid facing the police interrogation.
In the meantime, yesterday he has filed through his lawyers, an anticipatory bail application before Lanka Jayaratne, the Colombo Fort Magistrate and Additional District Judge.
In this respect, the Judge has issued notice to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to appear in court on February 8.
Asian Tribune learnt that according to police sources, Danuna Tilakaratne alleged to has committed offences under the Government Property Act and offences charged under this act are not baillable.
Also Asian Tribune further learnt that Sri Lanka’s CID Police is in touch with the Interpol, Washington and awaiting reports and clarifications they have already sought.
Furthermore, Police are interrogating Army officers who were involved in evaluating offers submitted by Danuna Tilakaratne’s HiCorp Company, regarding the supply of military hardware to the Army at that time when Sarath Fonseka was the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army.
It is learnt that those officers have told the police that they were not aware that those offers were made by illegal company alleged to belong to Danuna Tilakaratne the son-in-law of Sarath Fonseka.
Police, it seems are continuing with the investigations and also trying to ascertain whether company by the name British Borneo ever existed?
