Nepal and Singapore ink New Air Service Agreement

Kathmandu, 03 February, (Asiantribune.com):

Nepal and Singapore have inked a new air service agreement on Tuesday.

As per the new agreement, Singaporean and Nepalese air carriers will be entitled to operate 28 weekly passenger services between the two countries. Of the total flights, 14 can be operated via some intermediate points and to a few beyond points in third countries.

The carriers are also entitled to operate 14 weekly cargo services between the two countries, seven of which can be operated via any intermediate points and to any beyond point in third countries.

Singapore Airlines' regional carrier Silk Air currently operates six weekly passenger services between Singapore and Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal.

Officials believe that the new agreement would help to bring more tourists in the Nepal.

The Nepal government has already announced to mark 2011 as Tourism Year.
