Latest reports reveal that police are on the look out for Retired Maj. Gen. Sunil A De Silva who was the coordinating secretary to Retired General Sarath Fonseka in his election campaign.
The Retired Major General Sunil was the Mili tary Secretary when Sarath Fonseka was the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army.
After his retirement he was appointed as the Additional General Manager - Administration of Rupavahini, the state Television Corporation.
When Sarath Fonseka filed his nomination to contest in the Presidential election he resigned his position in the Rupavahini Corporation and worked as the Coordinating Secretary of Sarath Fonseka.
While he was the coordinating secretary, it was alleged he threatened Anusha Palpita, the Director, Department of Information, the former Army spokesman Brigadier Prasad Samarasinghe and the present Army spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakara.
In the meantime it is learnt that, the former Army spokesman Brig. Prasad Samarasinghe is on his way to be promoted as Major General and he will replace Brig. Udaya Nanayakara as the new Army spokesman.
In the meantime, Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara has been appointed as the Head of the Engineering Services.
According to reports, it was alleged that Retired Maj. Gen. Sunil De Silva threatened them that they will be severely dealt with once General Sarath Fonseka took over as the President of Sri Lanka.
It is also learnt that police are looking for him because he arranged to keep a fully equipped television van of the Rupavahini on standby on 26 – 27 of January to facilitate Sarath Fonseka to speak to the nation after the assassination of Mahinda Rajapaksa and his family.
Furthermore, Asian Tribune learnt that the Chairman of the Telephone Regulatory Commission Priyantha Kariyaperuma has been moved out and the Director of Information Anusha Palpita has been appointed as the Chairman of the Telecommunication Regulatory Commission.
Asian Tribune also learnt that there is a move to appoint Jayantha Kulatiklekke , DIG Galle as the new DIG CID replacing the present holder of the position DIG Nandana Munasinghe.
It is learnt that DIG Jayanth Kulatileke is the first cousin of Anoma Fonseka, the wife of Retired General Sarath Fonseka.
