Up-Country Peoples Front vice president joins Mano Ganesan’s party

Barathi Dasan and over 1500 members Up-Country Peoples Fronts have joined Democratic Peoples Front led by Mano Ganeshan.

According to a statement released by the Democratic Peoples Front Leader Mano Ganeshan, the Vice president of late minister P. Chandrasekaran’s Up-Country Peoples Front (UPF), Bharathi Dasan has joined Democratic Peoples Front (DPF) led by Mano Ganesan MP on Sunday at Hatton, Nuwara Eliya district states a media communiqué issued by DPF media office.

It further says that Bharathi Dasan and over 1,500 UPF members joined DPF at the specially arranged function at DKW hall in Hatton on Sunday afternoon.

Bharathi Dasan accepted party membership from DPF leader Mano Ganesan MP.

Ganesan speaking at the function said that Bharathi Dasan taking DPF membership would further strengthens his hands in the up-country and also indicates the rapid development and popularity of DPF in the Nuwara Eliya district plantations.

The UPF estate committee leaders who are joining DPF along with Bharathi Dasan would be automatically taken into the DPF’s plantation trade union DWC.

He also said that presidium of DPF has decided to appoint Bharathi Dasan as one of the four Vice presidents of DPF and it is expected to be endorsed at the politburo meeting scheduled to be held on 13th February.
