Sri Lanka: Parliament dissolved
Colombo, 10 February, (Asiantribune.com):
The Sri Lanka Parliament has been dissolved at midnight on Tuesday the 9th February.
The gazette notification was issued by the President for dissolution of the Parliament.
The Commissioner of Election will announce the schedule for the general elections to elect a new Parliament comprises of 196 elected members and 29 Members of Parliament from the National Lists of political parties and/or independent groups.
The General elections are expected to be held on April 08.
The final session of Parliament was held last Friday (February 05).
