A Journalist working for a Electronic Media, moved to Madras High court, seeking direction to Vellore women prison authorities to permit him to interview Ms Nalini Sriharan, who is serving life sentence in the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.

Sam Danial, Reporter of NDTV submitted in his writ petition, that he made two representations on February first and fourth to the prison authorities to permit him to meet Nalini, but it was rejected by the officials vide a order dated February 8.
