Don't celebrate my Birth Day in grand manner: Jayalalithaa to carders

_Jeyalalitha2.jpgFormer Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and the AIADMK supremo Ms J Jayalalithaa today asked her party men to refrain from any grand celebrations on her birthday on February 24 and rather do something to "mitigate the sufferings of the poor."

In a statement, the former cinema heroine, said the people were groaning under problems like price rise, power shortage and lack of law and order.

She is popularly called"Amma” venerated by her party cadres is turning to 62 on the 24th of this month.

"At a time when the state is on the path of destruction in many departments, I urge the party men not to engage in any grandeur or festivities to celebrate my birthday. They should rather involve themselves in useful things like, blood donation, providing medical services, or feeding the poor," she said.

With a year to go for the Tamil Nadu assembly elections, "the glorious days of AIADMK rule will come soon and let us reserve the celebrations for then," she added.
