Legendary singer TMS hospitalized: Doctors struggling to save his life

Soundararajan.jpgThe 87 year old, identified as the voice of both MGR and Sivaji, T M Soundararajan known as TMS has been admitted to a private hospital in Teyanmpet in Chennai. The Doctors are trying their best to save his life.

Following a neuro- logical complication. The 87-year-old, Cinema Play Back Singer, who is identified as the voice of both MGR and Sivaji Ganesan in most of their film songs, has sung over 10,000 film songs.

For over a month now, the singer had been suffering from serious memory loss, and had been admitted to a private hospital in Mandeveli.

The problem was diagnosed to be caused by a damage in a nerve, and Soundararajan had then been taken to Apollo Hospitals, Teynampet, where he is under intensive care.

On hearing the news of his illness, many film personalities who have been associated with him, including singer P Sushila and lyricist Vairamuthu, called on the singer's family.

Union Minister for Fertilisers and Chemicals M K Alagiri also spoke to Sounda- rarajan's family, and enquired about his health.

TMS, who had slipped into a coma, is said to be recovering slowly.
