Pakistani forces seized explosive from a seminary

Peshawar, 21 February, (Asiantribune.com):

Pakistani security forces seized explosives and hand grenades from the house and seminary of a local militant commander in Paharkhel Pakka village of Lakki Marwat District in northwest Pakistan.

The official sources say that on a tip about the presence of explosives in the house of Qari Munawar Jan in Paharkhel village the security forces raided the house.

The village borders the tribal belt of frontier region and had been a hiding abode of the militants.

The security forces backed by the armored personnel carrier also demolished the house and seminary of militants’ commander.

The operation has been launched after getting information from suspected militants who were arrested with an explosive-laden car during a search operation on February 18.

The arrested militants had reportedly revealed during interrogation that commander Qari Munawar Jan was the owner of the explosive-laden car, police had seized on Abakhel link road two days back.

DSP Lakki Liaqat Shah confirmed that the law enforcers have seized 50-kg explosives from the seminary and two hand grenades from the house of militant commander and razed the house.
