Jayalalithaa turns 62 : Enthusiastic Celbrations in several states

Prayers from people of different religions, distribution of sweets and welfare assistance to the poor marked the 62nd birthday celebrations of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK Supremo J Jayalalitha was held yesterday in states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh , Karnataka , Maharashtra and Delhi.

Thousands of AIADMK partymen celebrated her birthday by feeding the poor, blood donation , prayers offered in Churches, Mosques and prominent Hindu Temples.A 62 Kg Cake was cut as a part of the celebration. The party front line leaders hoisted the party flag at the party headquarters at Chennai and garlanded party founder MGR's statue besides distributing sweets.

In Puducherry , the party men organised special 'poojas' at different temples, including famous Manakkula Vinayagar Temple where they pulled the golden chariot.

Clothes, cycle rickshaws, push carts, tricycles and domestic utensils were distributed to 61,000 poor people to mark the occasion in Puducherry.A financial assistance of Rs 10,000 was provided to a person suffering from kidney disease on the occasion.

Ms.Jayalalitha was greeted by Tamilnadu Governer Surjit Singh Barnala by sending her a bouquet through his ADS , MDMK General Secretary Vaiko , BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad , state BJP leaders Pon.Radhakrishnan , L . Ganesan , former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu, Pudiya Thamizhagam leader Dr. Krishnasamy , Hindu Munnani President Ramagopalan, famous political critic and journalist 'Cho' Ramaswami, film actors Prabhu, Parthiban and famous singer P . Susheela.
