How much did LTTE pay Miliband to speak at Global Tamil Forum?
Despite protests by the Sri Lankan government, David Miliband, British Foreign Secretary, had addressed the Global Tamil Forum (GTF) creating sour relations between the two countries.
The Sri Lankan govt has expressed displeasure because the GTF is the current LTTE network in the west and their agenda is to set up a separate state called the 'Trans-National Govt of Tamil Eelam'. This would be a direct threat to the sovereignty of Sri Lanka. Therefore, David Miliband by addressing the GTF had become a supporting pillar of the LTTE lending credibility to an organization which propagates separatist policy.
The GTF is an LTTE front organization and its leaders were the fund raisers for the LTTE which in turn funded various political parties and politicians in western countries.
In his speech, he has said that he strongly supports and advocates non-violence and that peace is not found in weapons and warfare. However, he did not say this when the LTTE was creating mayhem in Sri Lanka and then during the war against the terrorists, he was trying to lecture the President how to run the war. Now he is preaching how the Sri Lankan govt should run its affairs. Miliband still thinks that Sri Lanka is a British colony. Instead trying to preach to Sri Lanka he should use his time to sort out terrorism in the UK and Northern Ireland.
He has also said that, "...LTTE , a terrorist organization, which committed countless atrocities itself, which refused to tolerate dissent, which forcibly recruited children as soldiers and which again refused to allow Tamil civilians to escape from fighting..." But at the time while Sri Lanka was fighting terrorism, he turned a blind eye to these atrocities and entertained LTTE supporters and spoke on their behalf.
A question that has been asked by neutral observers is how much was he paid by the LTTE for addressing the Global Tamil Forum? Because the fund raising LTTE Net Work is a Multinational Corporation, budgeting more than US$300 million per year.
David Miliband has failed to realize that the end of the terrorist war brought peace not only to Sri Lanka but also to its neighboring countries and South Asia in general.

politician (all 3 party
politician (all 3 party leaders) participating in GTF meeting and lend their support to Tamil Speaking peoples legitimate rights ( Please read the article: Tamil Grievances –Untouched & Unattended by Gomin Dayasri in this blog ) along with their demand for an international investigation of war crimes ( by all sides ), then the Sri Lankan Govt. and its supporters can take simple action to rectify this; Boycott UK and EU markets for Sri Lankan goods and services and also start sending back British and EU tourists at Colombo airport on their arrival. If Sri Lankan Govt. wants western money and access to these markets, then the Govt. and it supporters start listening to what British and other western Govt are saying. Also, they can turn to other markets like Iran, Libya, China, North Korea, Burma etc. Sri Lankan Govt and its supporters can’t have the cake and eat it!!!!!!

NOT BECAUSE OF MILIBAND
NOT BECAUSE OF MILIBAND
The primary reason why the Sri Lankan Govt. should genuinely address the grievances of minority citizens is not because what Miliband, Clinton, or Robert Blake say, but because as Gomin Dayasri says, these are the Right and Moral things to do. SPUR and Dr. Samaraweera while consistently blame outsiders for interference in so called internal affairs of a sovereign nation, have remained silent and oblivious to the calls of minority citizens for the fulfillment of their legitimate grievances. It is stunning how those in the Sinhalese diaspora in western nations, Australia, US, W. Europe, Canada, etc., despite their first-hand experiences in liberal democracies, continue to promote narrow-minded illiberal approaches to the resolution of the ethnic disparities of the nation. Distinguished attorney and Peace Negotiator Gomin Dayasri has bravely called upon the govt. to view Tamils as human begins whose only desire is to live in peace, harmony and prosperity with the majority Sinhalese as one people of one nation - with dignity and equality. Perhaps it is not mentally possible for bigots like Samaraweera to comprehend this basic desire of other humans (ethnically unlike them) to feel as equals, because of their own personal fears and inadequacies. Irrespective of their insecurities, the Sinhalese and the Sinhalese controlled govt. have a clear choice: the Sinhalese can either work towards building a just nation where all citizens are treated and considered as equals or continue with the failed past experiments of majoratarian hegemony. The first will assure peace for all of the islands people and future generations, and the second will ensure yet another more ferocious Prahabakaran.
Folks, get real – whether you like or not, the days of traditional superior attitudes akin to Royalty and Mahavamsa heroism are long gone and over; whether it is the US, UK, Australia, Canada, India or Sri Lanka, we humans can either learn to tolerate the inevitable differences among us and coexist as equals, with respects towards one-another, or perish together as un-equals. And that is all what Milibands, Clintons, Blakes, Obamas, and the Browns of the world are trying to tell Sinhalese bigots like Samaraweera. Deaf and blinded, the bigots continue to hear what they want hear and see only what they want to see, never listening to the voices of reason or seeing the reality of our complex world. For the nation’s sake let’s hope that sane voices of those like Mr. Dayasri prevail over the long bygone attitudes of these bigots.

Picture this - What if a group of Sinhalas over hundreds of years, went to Tamil Homeland Tamil Nadu & asked for a slice of that place for Sinhalas only, a sort of 'Seelam'. How would the Tamils of TN treated the Sinhalas there ? I leave it to your imagination !
