Jaya’s sudden departure to Kodanadu ?

AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa left to Kodanadu estate bungalow in Nilgiris district by a special flight on Saturday morning. The AIADMK sources said that she will handle the party affairs from there.

Ms Jayalalithaa has two offices now, one at her Poes Garden residence and another at Kodanadu, near Kothagiri. She operated from Kodanadu for three months in 2008 and for four months last year.

When the ruling DMK criticized her for visiting Kodanadu to take rest, she said that with technological advancements, the political leadership could function from anywhere in the state.

During her stay at Kodanadu in 2009, she held the party executive and party district secretaries meetings there.

"Our party chief has a complete office set up at Kodanadu. Her meetings with the party cadre and her interventions in the day-to- day political affairs of the state would happen from there," said a senior leader of the AIADMK.

Jayalalitha may have a 2 to 3 days' visit to Dharmapuri district from Kodanadu in the middle of March and may campaign in the Pennagaram assembly constituency for the AIADMK candidate R.Anbalagan.

Why Did ‘Jaya Leave to Kodanadu?

Reliable sources in the state intelligence told Asian Tribune that the former Chief Minister and the main opposition leader Ms.Jayalalitha went to Kodanadu just to avoid Deputy Cheif Minister M.K.Stalin who intended to meet her at her Poes Garden and invite her to the new Assembly complex's inauguration which will be held on March 13th.

"After inviting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and other leaders in Delhi, Stalin expressed his view to the Press at Chennai airport on inviting Jayalalitha and this might have led Madam to leave Chennai" the intelligence source added.

"Though Amma was born on February 24th, her star (Magam) Birthday falls on Sunday (Today). As she wants to celebrate it with pujas without any interference, she left to Kodanadu estate" one of the front rank leaders said.
