More than 7 .5 lakhs students appeared for Plus-Two Exam in Tamil Nadu

Sathyalaya Ramakrishnan Reporting from Chennai
Chennai, 02 March, (Asiantribune.com):

More than 7.5 lakhs students sat in the Plus-Two Examination conducted by Tamil Nadu Government Board Examinations, which commenced yesterday.

As the state Government had abolished the Common Entrance Test, the Plus Two Examinations are considered crucial, serving as the 'gateway' admissions to professional degree courses, including Medicine.

The examinations are being conducted in more than 2000 centre’s across the state.

The marks scored in these examinations will decide the prospects of the students who seek admission to professional courses.

The School Education Departments had constituted flying squads to prevent copying and conduct surprise checks in the schools.

Those found copying would be warned of strict action.

At Pennagaram in Dharmapuri district where the bye-election is scheduled to be held on March 27, the Election authorities have prohibited campaigning near the examination centres.
