Sacred Relics of St. Anthony to Sri Lanka on Sunday
Archbishop Malcolm Ranjith, the Archbishop of Colombo has made all arrangements to bring the Sacred Relics of St. Anthony to Sri Lanka on Sunday the 07th March 2010.
For the first time, the Catholics in Sri Lanka are blessed to have this very rare opportunity to see and pray before the Holy Relics of St. Anthony. This Holy Relic is presently at St. Anthony's Basilica in Padua, Italy.
It isw learnt that on a personal request of Archbishop Malcolm, the Rector the Padua Basilica obliged to bring the Sacred Relics to Sri Lanka. . Fr. Neville Joe Perera has been coordinating with Archbishop Malcolm to make the arrangements.
The Sacred Relics will be brought to Sri Lanka on 07th March 2010 at 1.30 p.m. to the Katunayake Air Port, which will be receive by Archbishop Malcolm Ranjith, the Archbishop of Colombo together with Archbishop Joseph Spiteri, the Apostolic Nuncio in Sri Lanka, Archbishop Nicholas Marcus Fernando, Archbishop Oswald Gomis, His Lordship Bishop Marius Peiris and Fathers of the Archdiocese.
Sacred Relics of St. Anthony will be brought specially to St. Anthony's Shrine, Kochchikade, which will be celebrating the 175th Jubilee on 12th & 13th June 2010.
At the request of the Bishops the Sacred Relics will be taken to all the other Dioceses from 10th March - 17th March.

Short prayer Service at the Katunayake Air Port and then Procession to from the Air Port to St. Anthony's Shrine Kochchikade
07th March - 5.00 p.m. - Holy Mass at St. Anthony's Shrine Kochchikade, presided by His Grace Archbishop Malcolm Ranjith and other Bishops present
7th March - 9th March - at St. Anthony's Shrine Kochchikade
10th March - 6.00 a.m. Mass - leave to Galle Cathedral
3.00 p.m. Holy Mass - Leave to Balangoda Church
11th March - 8.00 a.m. Holy Mass at Balangoda Church leave to St. Anthony’s Church, Bandarawela
12th March - 6.00 a.m. Holy Mass at Bandarawela leave to St. Mary’s Cathedral Batticala
4.00 p.m. Holy Mass at Batticaloa leave to St. Anthony’s Shrine Manippai Jaffna
