Over 85 per cent of Muslims are with the President and Freedom Alliance

a_h_m_fowzie.jpgMuslim community has completely placed their confidence on the President Mahinda Rajapaksa and the United People’s Freedom Alliance government (UPFA) which defeated the terrorism and created a free country to live in, said by Petroleum and Natural Resources Minister A.H.M. Fowzie.

Minister Fowzie, addressing a press briefing at the Mahaweli Centre in Colombo, said that the Muslim community is waiting for a chance to express their gratitude to President Rajapaksa for enabling them to live in brotherhood and in a peaceful environment.

Fowzie, who was flanked by Rajitha Senarathna and Patalie Champika Ranawaka, said that it was President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who removed the word; “minority” from the vocabulary.

He also added that as a talented and skilful politician, President Rajapaksa was able to gather all the Muslims under one umbrella, except few minor groups, and almost all the Muslim community has come forward to strengthen his hands.

He further added that a large number of Muslims were leaving the main Opposition; United National Party (UNP) and some other parties as they know Sri Lanka Freedom Party or the UPFA are the parties which have a political future.

He also claimed that 85 per cent of Muslims will vote for the Freedom Alliance at the forthcoming elections.
