Sri Lankan people can use General elections to answer unfair international allegations – President Rajapaksa
President Mahinda Rajapaksa said that the Sri Lankan security forces conducted the humanitarian operation to liberate the people in the north and east from the terrorists while protecting the civilian civilians. “Yet, we are faced with many unfair accusations from some foreign countries,” the President further stated.
He added that the people could use the upcoming General elections to provide proper answers to the international community who make various unfair allegations against Sri Lanka. “The people’s choice will give them the true picture of the situation of our country.”
Addressing a meeting of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) members in Beliatta electorate in the south, he pointed out that the powerful nations in the world are still continuing their fight against terrorism. At times new born babies have various abnormalities due to the nature of weapons they fight with. But we never had to face this situation. We conducted this humanitarian operation while protecting our civilians. Yet, we are faced with many accusations from some foreign countries, the President further stated.
We continued the development projects in this country while we were engaged with the humanitarian operations. We took decisions on the country's development without thinking of votes. As we took genuine decisions, people joined hands with us, he said.
The President emphasized that this development will benefit the future generations. "We need to open doors to the world for our youth", he stated.
At the meeting, the President pledged his commitment to develop the village and called on the public to join hands with the political leadership who cares for their villages.
The President also stressed that he will carry forward the country towards development with a strong team after setting up a strong parliament.

Whole country is behind you
Whole country is behind you in supporting your noble effort Mr. President!
Do not get distracted by the false accusations - at the end truth will prevail.
Today the whole world is one mess due to the deeds of the materially powerful but morally bankrupt countries. They are not creating great leaders anymore. The same misguided countries are pointing figures at Sri Lanka is not the biggest issue faced by us today.
We have our own issues:
1. sharing of power with provinces especially N & E.
2. economic development of the country
3. Eliminating corruption in the government service and among political establishment.
If we do not fix these real issues soon we will not stand a chance as a nation in the modern world.
People have voted already
People have voted already
Mr President, people have voted twice after May 2009 and resoundingly has said the operation you commanded is NOT A humanitarian operation and they want justice. These are the people you have supposed to have rescued voted against you and your allies, sending a clear message to you and your Govt that they want justice and an independent enquiry to find out what happened. You will get the same message in April, so don’t wait, go ahead and set up an independent panel to investigate with the help of UN.
Justice has been delivered to
Justice has been delivered to those who wanted peace and those who perused war and destruction.
Tamils only want warped "justice" which is amicable to them, and like their twisted fraudulent claims in the past of "discrimination" used to justify unreasonable demands and war itself, then "genocide" to prolong a war when defeat was starring at them, this hunt for justice is driven by ulterior motives. "Justice" in this case is to get revenge and hand out punishment to Sinhalese because despite the depths Tamils went to win, going so far as to willingly engineer a humanitarian catastrophe for their own people, they lost.
All the "misery" they went through no matter how horrifying was of their own creation and significantly was only a fraction of what they put innocent non-Tamils through –lest we forget most Tamils did enjoy free goods and "luxury items" going by Sri Lanka's socio-economic levels that were paid for by others.
They should not be complaining at all because the plain truth is that these are consequences of the "armed struggle" Tamilia started when trying to return to the British apartheid system of Governance in Sri Lanka, where 10% minority Tamils would have 90% political power and wealth. This greed and lust for power is what pushed them to begin a war and inflict misery on others because you cannot "democratically" create an apartheid that infringes the human rights of others, it can only be achieved through subjugating the Sinhala ethnic group using brutal violence. Yet instead of addressing this issue and the problems within their own community, they are side stepping their self inflicted problems by once again blaming Sinhalese and trying to play the victim, their call for “justice” also takes a roll in attempting to cover up their own failures and heaping blame on the Sinhala scapegoat.
Tamils tried to break the backs and will of the Sinhalese for 60 years with ridiculous demands, constant threats, ceaseless massacres, ethnic cleansings and slaughters akin to Kent and Dollar farm throughout the North and East targeting innocent Sinhalese, while at the same time gobbling up land in the South with more Tamils living outside the North and East than it. When the consequences of inflicting such suffering on others boomerangs they cry foul. They should not complain about the obvious consequences they create for themselves. It is extremely childish to try and blame others all the time and not takes responsibility for their actions.
Justice has been served. Tamils who started an "armed struggle" LOST. Here are the words of then Tamil leader Amirthalingam:
"Tunku Abdul Rahman had the statesmanship to allow Singapore to secede from Malaysia peacefully. But the Sri Lankan rulers do not have that wisdom. I stand on this stage without fear and state that Tamil Eelam will be born only through violent struggle and bloodshed. We are ready for the _bloody_ struggle" - Amirthalingum at TULF victory meeting at the Ramakrishna Hall, Wellawatte (1977).
It is indeed comical if not pathetic Tamils want "justice" because they lost a war they started -they chose the war path repeatedly because they believed they could win hence why they spat on every peace process and broke every ceasefire using pitiful excuses as justification because they wanted WAR and a violent victory to crush then subjugate Sinhalese with, but it never happened because that is justice.
The cold reality is Tamils still want to make Sri Lanka and Sinhalese suffer somehow, first it was through brutal violence and war now through sanctions. The destruction of the LTTE has resulted in them, the West and Sri Lanaks kalu-suddha pseudo-elite being unable to “threaten” Sinhalese, all miss the LTTE and all are furious with Mahinda Rajapkakse for getting rid of the LTTE and the Sinhala masses for backing him. He destroyed a vital tool of control and subjugation against the Sinhala masses, he has also brought economic empowerment to the whole nation not just a privileged pseudo-elite thus also denying the West an economic foot hold, which is why he is loved by the masses and which is why these 3 forces want this so called "justice", to get rid of him, some how punish the Sinhala people for backing him (for doing what is good for Sri Lanka) and induce suffering and control on the Sinhalese.
If there ever is to be real justice it is when the Tamils, their leaderships both in and out of Sri Lanka, the Tamil diaspora, and the West answer for the war crimes, human rights violations and crimes against humanity they have committed against the Sinhala people and other non-Tamil communities in Sri Lanka. That day is when real justice will be served.
By controlling and using the
By controlling and using the Tamil masses, the Tamil leaders expected to usurp and gain control of the Sinhala democratic majority's rightful place in Sri Lanka.
It failed, despite the several weak Sinhala leaders who bought into the slogan that it was an "unwinnable war". That is, up until this President took over the reins.
Neither the Sinhala people NOR the Tamil masses who were used as cannon fodder by the LTTE/Tamil political leaders, will ever let it happen again. Those who think that the Tamil masses can again be bought over to the old mindset will have to think again! For the first time in 60yr of Independence they are able to lead free lives. They will never again let themselves be talked into that old enslavement by their political leaders! The moment of freedom for the Tamil masses has finally come...Jaffna is a dynamic hive of bustling commerce and trade. These people are experiencing the difference and will make it stay, despite all the pipe dreams of the Diaspora.
The Presidential election was a strong signal, and the April elections will reinforce the direction in which Sri Lanka is moving.
I wonder if it will come to a
I wonder if it will come to a point that Sri Lankan parliament has to pass a resolution designating any organization advocating separatism in Sri Lanka as an enemy, and use all available diplomatic action to counter it.
Clearly Tamil Diaspora is trying to cross the line.
IF THE ALLEGATIONS ARE UNFAIR
IF THE ALLEGATIONS ARE UNFAIR AND WITHOUT FOUNDATION, THEN A UN INQUIRY WILL REVEAL THIS FACT, THAT THE ALLEGATIONS ARE UNFOUNDED, AND PRES RAJAPAKSE SHOULD WHOLEHEARTEDLY WELCOME SUCH AN INQUIRY.
PREZ RAJAPAKSE'S WILLINGNESS TO CONCEAL ANY POSSIBLE ATROCITIES BY THE LTTE DURING THE FINAL STAGES OF THE WAR, BY NOT ACCEDING TO A UN INQUIRY, ONLY RAISES VERY TROUBLING QUESTIONS.
