Ruler of Dubai meets Indian PM in New Delhi

Dubai.jpgVice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum met with Indian Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh at the Prime Minister's Office in New Delhi on Thursday.

Dr. Singh welcomed the visit of Sheikh Mohammed to India, describing the visit as a continuation of the mutual visits between the officials in both countries and provides impetus for strengthening ties between the two sides.

The UAE is looking forward to hosting the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh , who visited Saudi Arabia recently, and Oman as well as Qatar earlier, as part of India's deepening ties with the resource rich countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman of Emirates Group, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director of the Office of the Ruler of Dubai, Mohammed Sultan Al Owais, UAE Ambassador to India and the number of Indian officials.

Vice-President Hamid Ansari's visit to the UAE, which had been scheduled earlier, is also long overdue.
