Sweden’s international level postings
The Swedish Government has effected as many as seven appointments in two installments i.e on March 4 and 11 to the international bodies and diplomatic postings.
These are:
Mårten Grunditz has been appointed Head of the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the UN in New York. Mr Grunditz is currently Secretary-General of the Secretariat for EU Meetings in Sweden. He will take up his new post in June 2010.
Jan Knutsson has been appointed Head of the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the International Organisations in Geneva and will have the status of Ambassador. Mr Knutsson is currently Director-General for International Development Cooperation. He will take up his new post in the autumn of 2010.
Signe Burgstaller has been appointed Deputy Head of the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the UN in New York and will have the status of Ambassador. Ms Burgstaller is currently Deputy Head at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs' Security Policy Department. She will take up her new post in the autumn of 2010.
Ewa Polano has been appointed Sweden's Ambassador in Timor-Leste. This appointment is a concurrent accreditation to the post as Ambassador in Indonesia, which Ms Polana already holds. Before taking up her appointment as Ambassador in Indonesia, she was a coordinator at the Office of the Minister for Trade, and Chair of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs' promotion of Sweden team.
Anna-Karin Eneström has been appointed Sweden's Representative to the Political and Security Committee and the Western European Union at the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the EU in Brussels. At present, Ms Eneström is Ambassador at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs' Department for Asia and the Pacific Region and she will take up her new post in the autumn of 2010.
Hans Dahlgren has been appointed Human Rights Ambassador, based at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs' Department for International Law, Human Rights and Treaty Law. Mr Dahlgren is currently Head of the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the International Organisations in Geneva. He will take up his new post in the autumn of 2010.
Carin Wall has been appointed Sweden's Ambassador in Liberia. Ms Wall is already Ambassador in Burkina Faso and Côte d'Ivoire, and will hence be Ambassador in a third country. Ms Wall is based in Stockholm, working at the Africa Department at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
