President Asks the Working Community to have a Regime of their own
“Mahinda Cinthana” program gave the country a lot of things during last four years which it has lost more than two decades and it was a practical program which recognized the thoughts and aspirations of the working community of this country, said by President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
President Rajapaksa addressing the working community of the country on Friday (March 12) at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo, educated the genera public on “Mahinda Chinthana” extended version and the ruling United Peoples Freedom Alliance government development programs which are to implement in coming six years.
“Sri Lankans did not have a “united country”. It was the “Mahinda Chinthana” that has created a free country bringing the pride for the nation. “Mahinda Chinthana” program always stood against the bribery, corruption, threatening and theft. But it always appreciated respectable peace, economic development and a lot of other positive issues,’ President told the gathering.
President also said that the working community won’t be ready to let down the motherland in the face of narrow political advantages and requested working community to lend their maximum support to form a stable parliament to develop the country for the future generation by eliminating corruption.
He further added that as the UPFA government had always placed confidence on the working community and requested the working community to strengthen his hands at the general elections assisting to have a strong parliament.
The President insisted some of the opposition politicians to not to betray the country thinking about dollars which they are to receive from some western countries and nongovernmental organizations.
Concluding his speech, President invited the working community of the country to have a regime which recognizes the pulse of the people that can be recognized their true aspirations.
