Opinion Poll first round result

Thanks for those who voted in the Opinion Poll, we launched on March 8 in Asian Tribune on which party is popular and to what extent in Sri Lanka as it goes to polls on April 8, we have completed the first round.

We had said the Poll will be on for four days every week—Monday to Thursday; and result will be announced, following every round until General Elections in Sri Lanka. Here’s the results of the first round:

There were 703 who came forward to express opinion in the first round.

United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) polled 87% (611 votes);

United National Front (UNF) polled 7% (50 votes);

Democratic National Alliance (DNA) polled 3% (21 votes);

Tamil National Alliance (TNA) polled 2% (13 votes);

Others polled 1% (8 votes).

It can be seen the UPFA is leading far ahead even of main opposition party.

However, the second round starts from Monday (March 15). Join for the second round.
