Swamy Nithyanantha's case file sent to Karnataka: DGP Letika Saran
The Director General of Police(DGP) Tamil Nadu, Ms Letika Saran has said, that she sent the controversial spiritual Swamy Nityananda's Sexual Scanal Case files to Karnanataka by Registered Post.
Talking to newsmen on Monday, after chairing a grievance meeting of police personnel of South Zone , at Madurai, she said the case was transferred to Karnataka Police and the Tamil Nadu Police would render all assistance to them during the course of investigation.
''The case files have been sent to Karnataka Police by registered post,'' she replied to a query from the scribes on the Karnataka Police officials' claim they had not received any information about the case being transferred to Bengaluru by Tamil Nadu.
Expressing satisfaction over the security arrangements for the by-election to Pennagaram Assembly constituency on March 27, Ms Letika Saran said the police were screening vehicles of political parties in an unbiased manner in the constituency.
There are 12 special check posts had been set-up in the constituency and the screening process was being videographed for transparency, Ms Saran added.
About 1,200 police along with two companies of Central Paramilitary forces were being deployed for security, while four more companies of central forces would join the existing team to augment bandobust duty, she said.
The DGP said she had personally inspected the security arrangements in Pennagaram recently and there was no law and order problem in the constituency. The public can exercise their franchise without any fear, she added.
Further, she said as many as 720 memoranda were received from the police personnel of South Zone with regard to transfers, promotions and wage revision. The grievances of the cops would be settled within a period of six months.
