Two Nepal Tourists Killed In Madurai Road Accident
Two Nepal Tourist pilgrims, including a woman,were killed on the spot and three others seriously injured when a car in which they were travelling dashed against the rear side of a truck laden with watermelon fruits at Navinipatti village, near Melur on the Tiruchirapalli-Madurai fourlane, on Thursday.
According to the Police, a four-member-family from Nepal was proceeding to the holy Island town of Rameswaram on a pilgrimage from Chennai in a hired car, when the tragedy occurred.
D Laul Babu Shah (42) and his mother D Deepthi Shah (70) died on the spot, while three others, including L Annapoorna (38), wife of Laul Babu Shah, their daughter L Deepa (15) and car driver Mohammed Basuludeen (43) of Chennai sustained serious injuries.
They were admitted to the Government Hospital at Madurai.
The truck was going to Thiruvananthapuram from Tindivanam, police added.
