Veteran Cinema Cameraman P N Sundaram Passes Away
The Veteran cinema Cameraman, P N Sundram who worked with MGR and Sivaji in hundreds of films passed away at his residence here on Monday evening. He was 82 and is survived by his two daughters and a son.
He started his cinema carrier along with Mr Vincent and their names have projected in the films as Vincent-Sundaram.
Sundaram, Staring as a camera assistant at Vijaya Vauhini studios, Sundaram went on to can a number of memorable movies starring M GR, Sivaji' Ganesan, and Jayalaithaa among others.
Uyarndha Manidhan', Oli Vilakku', Kaadhalikka Neramillai', Enga Veettu Pillai', Adimai Penn', and Vietnam Veedu' were among them. He had filmed over 200 movies in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
Sundaram was one of the founders of the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) and the South Indian Cinematographers Association (SICA). As a mark of respect to the venerated cinematographer, all shooting schedules for Tuesday have been cancelled.
Sundaram, a resident of Saidapet, had undergone a surgery for a heart condition a few months ago and had visited his doctors for a check-up on Monday. He passed away around 4 30 pm at his residence, said SICA sources.
The last rites were held yesterday afternoon.
