Most glamorous Realty TV Talent Show with armed services personnel
With the participation of the three Armed Services personnel – Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Air Force and Sri Lanka Navy, in Dialog Telekom, the Ministry of Defense is organizing one of the most glamorous Realty TV Talent Shows that will be regularly telecast by the Sri Lanka Rupavahini.
It is one of the heavily funded sponsorships by Dialog Telecom, supports the musical talent show – Tri- Armed Services Realty TV Talent Show. The prize money alone would run up to around Rs 20 million while the winner of the first prize would receive Rs 10 million worth house.
The ‘Ranaviru Real Star’ was unveiled by Gotabaya Rajapakse, Secretary, Ministry of Defense, in Colombo.
The selection would be out of 25 to 30,000 men and women in these three armed forces. Already around 12,073 applications have been received and out of which 500 will be selected and in this process the number would be brought down to 250 and then to 100.
The number then again would be boiled down to 20 and between January 1 and May 28, 2011, they would be singing until the most talented Real Star would be selected who will earn a Rs 10 million worth house as 1st Prize. The climax of the Show would be on May 28, 2011 the second anniversary of the winning of the war. The Programme would serve as a platform to highlight the musical talents of the soldiers.
Nushad Perera, Group Chief Marketing Officer, Dialog said that in this competition real stars would emerge that are different from stars. He said that these soldiers are not only heroes in war, but they also have hidden talents that the country should know of these other capabilities. He explained how the prize money would be distributed.
He said that there are over two million Sri Lankans in the ‘Ranaviru family’ and the Ranaviru Talent Show would bring them all together. He said the Show is a product of Dialog and it would be propelled to great heights in time to come.
In answer to a query he said that the mode of adjudging the winners would by 40% of SMS messages and 60% adduced by the judges who would be competent musicians.
Lakshman Hulugalle, Director General, Media Centre for National Security said that in other Sri Lankan Television channels there are realty talent shows, but the present one is completely different from them – a musical talent show for armed forces – would be a first in the world.
Sarath Kongahage, Chairman, Rupavahini Corporation, said that this event would be one of the best talent shows ever to take place with the assistance of Dialog Telecom.
