Fresh wave of US drone blitz claims 52 lives in Pakistan
In a fresh wave of US drone attacks at least 52 people were killed in North Waziristan, a restive tribal agency in northwest Pakistan since Monday evening.
After suspension of $800 million of military assistance, the US while accelerating drone attacks killed of 37 people on Tuesday and 15 on Monday.
The unmanned US planes carried out four missile attacks in Shawal and Datakhel areas of North Waziristan since Monday evening.
On Tuesday evening, at least 10 missiles were fired on a compound in Godi Waila village in Datakhel tehsil, about 50 kilometers west of Miramshah.
According to sources a tribesman, identified as Rahim Noor, having links with militant groups owned the compound.
Official sources said that seven suspected militants were killed and three others injured.
Another attacks on a compound in Derry Nashter near the border on early Tuesday morning, left about 30 people dead according to the locals and 12 others injured while official sources said 13 people were killed in the attack.
The first attack was followed by another when people started fleeing the compound.
According to locals a less known ‘Rehmani’ network run by a local commander namely Ishaq was the target of the attacks.
