From the pariah to the pinnacle - Sri Lanka turns tables at CHOGM
The motley lot who failed to call the shots at CHOGM has been exposed. They have been uncovered as LTTE supporters in the guise of Tamil human rights defenders omitting to tell the unsuspecting Australian public that they in fact were supporters of a brutal terrorist oraganisation that could be labeled as the mother and grandmother of the worst kind of human rights abusers in the history of Sri Lanka.
One of these unsuspecting and naïve journalists, Phillip Coorey of the Sydney Morning Herald referred to Sri Lanka as the pariah of the Commonwealth. If only he had done some investigations, he would have known that he had put his foot, rather both his feet, in his mouth, and that he should have been more circumspect with his choice of words.
Sri Lanka has shown that they are not condoning any human rights abuses, had they occurred, and certainly would not oppose prosecution of anyone who had acted beyond international norms associated with a war, had such events occurred during the last stages of the war.
Sri Lanka has consistently stated that its own internal, independent investigation, the LLRC, would enquire into any allegations, and submit recommendations for any future course of action. The LLRC had consistently invited anyone and everyone, locally and internationally to make submissions before the Commission so that those submissions could be investigated.
Oraganisations like Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and the International Commission of Jurists (Australia branch), Channel4, and even the private panel appointed by the UN Secretary General to advise him on the future course as regards allegations of human rights abuses and possible war crimes, chose not to make submissions, and to rely on material supplied to them by the mother of human rights abuses, the LTTE, rather than making submissions to the LLRC.
They all condemned the LLRC even before they had a chance to complete their task and submit their report. Now, neither these organizations nor any member of the international community would be able to keep a straight face and accuse the LLRC of not doing a thorough job beyond investigating what has been submitted to them, because their terms of reference require them to investigate the veracity of submissions made to them, and not extraneous matters that clog the wave lengths of the international media.
Most if not all such propaganda material have been submitted to the international media and the various organizations mentioned earlier by the LTTE. Sadly no Australian media personality (for that matter any other international media personalities and organizations) seems to be doing any kind of investigating nowadays, instead relying on what materials are supplied to them by various Wolves in Sheep’s clothing.
Investigative journalism seems to be a thing of the past in Australia, and generally in the West, as they have all relied on materials supplied to them to their armchairs for them to put pen to paper.
Had they done some investigations, they would have realized that some of these players who have been at the forefront of the battle against Sri Lanka at the CHOGM have all had direct or indirect links with the LTTE and they have openly supported them.
Even if some of these people were genuinely supporting the Tamil “cause”, being associated with the LTTE in support of such a “cause”, tantamounts to supporting the means employed by the LTTE to achieve such a “cause”.
The means employed by the LTTE were the most heinous one can imagine, and the human rights abuses they were responsible for overshadows even what Pol Pot did in Cambodia. There can be absolutely no justification for these organizations or personalities to have supported a Tamil “cause”, if that was being promoted by the LTTE or their front organizations. Doing so taints their hands with blood that is on the hands of everyone with the LTTE or are in support of them.
Some of these personalities who spearheaded the call to suspend Sri Lanka from CHOGM, to take Sri Lanka before an international war crimes tribunal, and punish Sri Lanka for crimes they have not committed, have all had some association with the LTTE.
Let’s take John Robert Arthur Dowd AOQC (born 12 November 1940), a former Australian politician and jurist, who is the Chancellor of Southern Cross University and the President of ActionAid Australia, an international aid organisation.
At the time of his resignation from the Supreme Court, Dowd blamed personal attacks from Prime Minister John Howard and Premier of New South WalesBob Carr regarding his opposition to anti-terrorism legislation for his resignation from the bench. Dowd resigned from the bench on 13 August 2004.
Mr Carr described Justice Dowd as "utterly irresponsible", "extraordinarily insensitive" and "divisive"."For goodness sake, can't John Dowd get into his thick head that Bali occurred, that we have a problem here, that these threats are real, and, when triggered, police ought to have the powers to arrest people, to question people, to search people?" Mr Carr said at the time.
Mr Howard also accused Justice Dowd of ignoring the separation of powers between government and judiciary by attacking the legislation "in a very partisan way".
The Chairman of the Australian ICJ, the portly John Dowd and his organization produced a 500 page document of allegations of war against Sri Lanka and the present High Commissioner Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe based on well rehearsed yarns spun by a single witness named Meena Krishnamoorthy, who through her involvement in the activities of the LTTE terrorists is a highly prejudiced source.
John Dowd and several hundred Tamils from Sydney and adjoining counties participated in an event held at the Ryde Civic Center in Sydney Sunday 02 October 2005 in support of the Tamil Resurgence events being held by fellow Tamils in the NorthEast. The event was organized by the Australasian Federation of Tamil Associations (AFTA), an umbrella organization of Tamil groups in the region.
The event addressed by John Dowd had a large than life size cut out of terrorist leader Prabakaran, as seen in the photograph shown below. Interestingly the Tamilnet version of this same photo did not show Prabakarans’s photograph, again seen below.
Justice John Dowd therefore cannot be taken as an impartial advocate pushing for Sri Lanka to be suspended from the Commonwealth, or for war crimes allegations to be investigated by an international tribunal.
Mr Carr’s description of Justice Dowd being "utterly irresponsible", "extraordinarily insensitive" and "divisive" is spot on as is Mr John Howard contention that Justice Dowd had ignored the separation of powers between government and judiciary by attacking the legislation "in a very partisan way”.
In being associated with LTTE sponsorship of a dubious cause, in ignoring international conventions and the sovereignty of a nation, in acting completely against what is justice, meaning impartiality, Justice John Dowd has been anything but that.
The pictures shows the ICJ President John Dowd addressing a propaganda meeting of the Tamil Eelam Lobby with a portrait of the megalomaniacal terror leader VelupillaiPrabhakaran in the background, on 02 October 2005 at Ryde Civic Centre, Sydney.
Now let’s look at the man who filed a war crimes case against Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajappaksa in a Melbourne Magistrates Court, and which was subsequently dismissed by the Australian Federal Attorney General Robert McClelland. He is Sri Lanka-born Sydney man Arunachalam Jegatheeswaran, reportedly an uncle of Brami Jegatheeswaran (Brami Jegan) who ran for a senate seat in NSW under the Greens ticket in 2010.
Mr Arunachalam Jegatheeswaran is the brother of Arunachalam Chrishanthakumar -- known as AC Shanthan, who was jailed for two years for aiding the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, the notorious Tamil Tigers militia outlawed in Britain as a terrorist organization. Shanthan, the founder of the British Tamil Association was found to have acquired electrical componentry and military manuals for the LTTE.
According to defense intelligence sources in Sri Lanka, Jegadeeshwaran, a technical consultant by profession now living in Sydney, Australia is revealed to have been a close associate of late Prabakaran, head of the internationally banned terrorist outfit - LTTE. Evidence has also surfaced exposing Jegadeeshwaran's close involvement since 2001 with high profile members of the now military defeated terrorist outfit including its international wing head Castro.
His involvements with the LTTE include designing and construction of key 'military' infrastructure facilities to the terror outfit. Jegadeeshwaran was born in Sri Lanka and later had obtained Australian citizenship in year 1987.
Jegadeesawaran and his family members were reportedly well-connected to the LTTE hierarchy for a prolonged period. During the final days of the conflict Prabakaran who had sniffed the outfit's inevitable defeat had entrusted Arunachalam Jegadeeshwaran to escort the former's parents to safe sanctuary with the security forces. It is reported that it was Jegadeeshwaran who had handed over Prabakaran's parents at the IDP receiving center in Vavuniya.
These same sources say that Arunachalam Crishnakumar alias London Shanthan who was arrested in London on charges of arms procurement and fundraising for the LTTE terrorist outfit to be the younger brother of Jegadeeshwaran. In a special operation conducted in 2007 UK Metropolitan Police from the counter Terrorism Command arrested A C Shanthan, the LTTE leader in the UK who operated under the title of President of the British Tamil Association (BTA) along with Goldan Lambert, Head of Finance of the BTA.
They have been arrested under the UK Terrorism Act of 2000 under which bail is not allowed.
Confirming that her uncle had been jailed, Greens candidate Brahmi Jegatheeswarsn said at the time that "Yes, it happened, but I don't believe I have anything to apologise for," pointing to a transcript of the judge's comments in which her uncle was called "a thoroughly decent man" who hadn't sought to "assist (the LTTE) in war". "The fact is my uncle was trying to help Tamils in Sri Lanka. But he wasn't a terrorist," she says.
Brahmi Jegatheeswaran and her family obviously do not seem to attach any concern for the murderous activities of the LTTE, and the fact that they had been responsible for the worst form of human rights violations in recent history, and the death of more than 100,000 people as a consequence of the violence perpetrated by the LTTE.

Arunachalam Crishnakumar alias London Shanthan was very close to Balasingham and the duo more or less ran the LTTE in London. He also accompanied Balasingham and wife Adel during their last visit to Geneva for peace talks in February 2006.
It is interesting to note that this time the LTTE 'mouth pieces' have selected a character identified as Meena Krishnamoorthy, a lady who claims to be a Sri Lankan Tamil now residing in Australia who has a great talent and love for dancing. ABC TV used her and her acting abilities to feign an emotion chocked interview.
The true face of Meena Navarangi Krishnamoorthy is rather different as revealed by Sri Lankan Intelligence and Law enforcement agencies. Meena Krishnamoorthy alias Eelanadi, went to Australia with her parents as an asylum seeker and later in the year 2004, returned to Sri Lanka, for nothing but to render her assistance to the LTTE, a terrorist organization that is designated by the US Department of State as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and a banned organization in many countries.
She was a hard-line activist of the Tamil Youth Organisation (TYO), the international youth wing of the LTTE that functioned under Castro, the international co-ordinator of the LTTE and under the personal supervision of the LTTE leader Vellupillai Prabhakaran. She also received a 06 months military training whilst in the Wanni, of the then LTTE dominated area. She married a fellow terrorist named Irasurathnam Dayakaran alias Kuveran in the year 2007.
While in Sri Lanka she worked under Castro until she was rescued by the Sri Lankan Security Forces during the last stages of the Humanitarian Operation.
Later in 2010 he deserted the Rehabilitation Centre and remains absconding to date. Further Sri Lankan Law Enforcement authorities have been informed by their Australian Counterparts on an inquiry made on Meena Krishnamoorthy, that she has been recorded in Australian indices as a sympathizer of the LTTE.
Australian Law enforcement authorities also confirm these individuals are sympathetic to the terror outfit.
It is evident beyond doubt that the continued efforts of such similar scale by LTTE rump groups and activists are aimed at derailing the reconciliation and rapid development taking place in the North and East, with soliciting international support.
The list of LTTE operatives who pose as human rights activists in Australia is very long. The Sri Lankan Defense department and Australian law enforcement authorities are keeping a close tab on them. It is a great pity that the Australian media, including the once respected ABC has not considered it necessary to check their facts and the bona fides of those they foist before an unsuspecting Australian public and before opening their mouths to insinuate that the Sri Lankan government is the perpetrator of human rights abuses and not the LTTE.
It has been a matter of convenience or connivance for international organizations like Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, International Commission of Jurists, Channel4 of UK, political parties like the Australian Greens and ABC TV of Australia, to be associated with the LTTE and their front organizations in Australia (and elsewhere), and give voice to the machinations of the LTTE.
The LTTE is not the voice of the Tamils. If Tamils in Sri Lanka have grievances to address, they need to do so with other community representatives in Sri Lanka. The LTTE has caused immense damage to the Tamil people as well as all other communities in Sri Lanka.
No Sri Lankan will support anyone who has links to the LTTE, and if that is being a Pariah, so be it. It’s better to be that, than be terrorized and brutalized by the worst kind of human beings that comprised the LTTE, led by the monster of them all, Prabakaran.
Sri Lanka has turned tables at the CHOGM not by hiding the truth and not by being afraid to face it. It has done so by exposing those who have been and still are behind a deliberate attempt to punish the Sri Lankan President and the country’s armed forces for doing what no other country in the world has been able to do. They beat the world’s most vicious terrorist organization and saved hundreds and thousands of Tamil people from a certain death under them.
The LTTE and Tamil Diaspora activist campaign is not against human rights allegations or war crimes. They are the ones who committed these for nearly 30 years. Their battle is against stability and peace, and a chance for Tamil people living in Sri Lanka to reconcile with all other communities and find a mutually acceptable political solution within a unitary, united and peaceful Sri Lanka.
