Should Sri Lanka revisit its support for Australia on its bid for the Security Council?

Comments

Australia is not a neutral

Australia is not a neutral country. It always take the side of the USA in every issue. Providing a place in the Security Council for Australia is the same as giving a second vote for USA.

I need not say more. Appointing a puppet govt a place in the UN Security Council defeats the purpose of having a number of places to provide different view points on issues arising from time to time.

It may be that Australia is dependent on USA for defence and other matters. Australia has a right to look after their interests. However, such countries should not be allowed to express a biased view at UN Security Council on issues affecting the rest of the world.
