Dr. Subramanian Swamy in Kataragama
Dr. Subramanian Swamy , the Janata Party leader is in Sri Lanka on a pilgrimage to Kataragama - the Lord Muruga’s temple to participate in the rituals connected with Thai Poosam.
Thai Poosam is celeberated in all the Lord Murugan’s temple and according to a legend Lord Muruga destroyed Tharakasuran on the Poosam Nakshatra day in the Tamil month of Thai and hence Thai Poosam is celebrated in all Murugan temples.
It is a special day for worship of Lord Muruga or Subrahmanya and is celebrated in a very grand manner at all Murugan temples, especially at the Six Battle Camps or 'Arupadai Veedu' of Murugan and in other Lord Muruga’s Temples including Kataragama located in the south of Sri Lanka.
It is learnt Dr. Subramanian Swamy arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday and he left for Kataragama to spend the day in worshipping and performing the religious rituals connected with Thai Poosam.
In the meantime today morning he was interviewed by Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation and his interview was broadcasted live in English as well as in Tamil.
Answering a question Dr. Subramanian Swamy has cautioned that third party should not be allowed to interfere in the Devolution talks.
Hudson Smarasinghe, Chairman of the SLBC told Asian Tribune that in the interview he had with Dr. Subramanian Swamy, he has expressed great confidence in the leadership of Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa and described the Sri Lanka President - an experience political leader and a person who freed the Tamils from the iron clutches of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.
Asian Tribune also learnt that he will be leaving India today.
