Ambassador Sarrath Kongahage presents the Letters of Credence

Sarrath Kongahage, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Swiss Confederation, presented to Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf, the President of the Swiss Confederation, the Letters of Credence at the Federal Palace in Berne, Switzerland, on 10th January 2012.

Credentials_Switzerland_2.JPGOn his arrival and departure at the Federal Palace, the Ambassador was accompanied by officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation.

After the presentation of the Letters of Credence, Ambassador had an audience with the Federal President and discussed issues mutually interesting to both countries.

The Ambassador also presented greetings of the President Mahinda Rajapaksa to the President of the Swiss Confederation.

The meeting was attended by the Federal Chancellor of the Swiss Confederation and high-ranking officials from the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation.
