Ambassador Oshadhi Alahapperuma travels to Iceland for Presentation of Credentials

The Sri Lankan Ambassador in Stockholm, Sweden, Oshadhi Alahapperuma, met with the President of Iceland H.E. Mr Ólafur Ragnar Grimsson, on 27th of February, and presented Credentials as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Iceland at the Presidential Palace in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Ireland_1.jpgIn addition to the meeting with President Grimsson, Ambassador Alahapperuma had paid courtesy calls on the Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture Mr Stengimur J. Sigfusson as well as the Permanent secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Energy Mr Krristjan Skarpheoinsson and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Mr Einar Gunnarsson.

Deliberations with the respective Ministry officials, spanning on potential ties between Iceland and Sri Lanka in sectors of tourism, geothermal energy, technology on fisheries industry and trade and investment, were highlighted, throughout the duration of the meetings.

During the visit H.E. the Ambassador was accompanied by Mr. S.B. Wijekoon Minister Counsellor of the Embassy.
