Holy Mass to Bless President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Church of Nativity

mahinda_14.jpgA Holy Mass is to be held at the St. Catherine Church - The Church of Nativity in Bethlehem on !7th November to Bless President Mahinda Rajapaksa on his 67th birthday.

Mahinda Rajapaksa , born 18 November 1945, was born in Weerakatiya in the southern rural district of Hambantota.

The special Mass to Bless Sri Lanka’s President is scheduled to be held at 3.00 PM on 17th November.

The Church of the Nativity is a basilica located in Bethlehem, Palestinian territories, and is considered to be the oldest continuously operating Christian church in the world.

The church was originally commissioned in 327 AD by Constantine and his mother Helena over the site that is still traditionally considered to be located over the cave that marks the birthplace of Jesus of Nazareth.

The Mass is being organized by the Friends of Sri Lanka in Bethelhem, Sri Lankans in Israel and Palestine and by the Representative Office of Sri Lanka in Palestine.
