World goes crazy over ‘Gangnam style’!

By S.H.Moulana - Riyadh

South_Korean_Pop_Star_PSY.jpgCricket fans would have watched how the West Indies cricket team did burst into an instant jubilation, in Colombo, after winning the Cricket T/20 World Cup, and an impromptu dance- ‘Gangnam style’!

Only a fraction of the fans who joined them in the dance then knew what kind of dance it was. The song, ‘Gangnam style’, which was released in July 2012, created a frenzy among the music fans instantly the same way ‘rock & roll’ did in early 1950s, in the US and elsewhere.

As of today, over 670 million times ‘Gangnam style’ video has been viewed on You Tube and reported to be the site’s most watched video soon and already the most watched Korean pop video. By the end of October 2012 the song reached the number one position in not less than 33 countries including Australia, Canada, France, Germany and Britain.

‘Gangnam style’ is a single by the South Korean pop artist PSY. The phrase ‘Gangnam style’ is a Korean neologism that refers to a life style associated with the Gangnam district of Seoul.
The song and its accompanying music video went viral soon after the single was released. It is now considered to be a phenomenon worldwide and PSY’s dance is praised as amazing as well as amusing. You got to see it to believe it.

We thank PSY for his contribution to cheer up the humanity and unite them at a time where there is a lot of hatred, injustice and killings on this planet where we live, now.
