Kazaks enjoyed Sri Lankan cultural program

Sri Lankan cultural show to mark the twenty years diplomatic relations with Kazakastan was well received by the indomitable President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The people of Kazakastan who witnessed the cultural show were very much enthused by the drums and other musical instruments which are completely new to them.

The cultural event was held at the Pyramid stadium, apex is glazed with doves fluttering in a blue sky beneath a yellow sun — blue and yellow being the colors of Kazakhstan’s flag and it has a seating capacity of 1300 and the stadium was fully packed and in fact the Kazaks enjoyed every bit of the cultural program.

The two Presidents declared open the cultural program by lighting the traditional oil lamp, and the cultural program commenced.

Mr. Nandana Wickremasinghe is the leader of Sri Lanka’s 3O member dancing troupe which went specially from Colombo to Astana peformed a wonderful show.

Their beat of the traditional Sri Lankan drums and other musical instruments caught the attention of the Two Presidents as well as the VIP Kazak guests who were spellbound and listened and viewed the program.

The cultural program continued for nearly 21/2 hours and the two Presidents were present for nearly 55 minutes and enjoyed the program.

Just immediately after the first interval, the two Presidents left, but the program continued.

Kazaks expressed their happiness by clapping and enjoying the Sri Lankan cultural program.

After 8 Oclock in the evening, it was the official dinner and both Presidents exchanged gifts and participated in the dinner, which was served at the special hall of the Pyramid stadium.
