Sri Lanka appoints Hony. Consul in Bulgaria

Warsaw, 05 December, (Asiantribune.com):

The Government of Sri Lanka has appointed Mr. Borislav Sarandev Sarandev as the Honorary Consul for Sri Lanka to look after its interests in the Republic of Bulgaria.

Ambassador Pamela J. Deen, concurrently accredited to the Republic of Bulgaria from Warsaw declared open the Honorary Consulate on 27th of November 2012 among the distinguished presence of the officials of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other guests including the media.

The Honorary Consulate is located within walking distance to the Presidential Palace and the Bulgarian Parliament.

Speaking at the reception hosted to celebrate the event, Ambassador Deen stated that 2012 was significant in bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Bulgaria as it marked the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

While thanking the Bulgarian Government for their assistance given in making the appointment, she expressed the trust placed on Mr. Sarandev to help the Bulgarian people to know more about Sri Lanka particularly of its natural beauty, cultural and historical heritage, Gems and jewellary, tea etc.
