Party Leaders decided to hold debate on impeachment motion against CJ on 10th &11th
The Party Leaders meeting presided over by the Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa decided to hold the impeachment motion debate against Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayake on 10th and 11th of this month.
Two debate is to take place to the finish, it is learnt.
In the meantime Mr. Ravi Kaurnaniayake MP and Lakshman Kiriella MP of the UNP, Mr. Anura Dissanayake MP of the JVP and Mr. Suresh Premachandran MP of the TNA participated on behalf of the Opposition Parties.
When the Government leaders proposed to hold the parliament proceedings on the 10th & 11th of this month, the opposition party leaders told that they have already arranged some other engagements on those days and urged the proposed debate be postponed to some other days and walked out of the meeting.
