[b]Colombo, 04 February, (Asiantribune.com):[/b] Bird flu virus, H51 strain has not entered Sri Lanka, declared Dr. Nihal Abeysinghe, Director of the Epidemic Diseases Unit of the Ministry of Health.

He said Sri Lanka stands in a better position than the other Asian countries in terms of preventive measures and less tendency in outbreak of epidemics.

Dr. Abeysinghe further added the impact of the virus is more for birds than to humans.

He said the government has already taken every possible measure to prevent the strain entering the country.
