FCISL organizes seminars

Colombo, 14 March, (Asiantribune.com): The Department of Human Resources Development and Industrial Relations has organized three seminars on such topics as: Termination of Employment ( Disciplinary and Non-Disciplinary); Employment of Women and Children and Leadership and Teamwork.

The course content of the seminar on Termination of Employment would include: Non-disciplinary termination, disciplinary terminations, vacation of post, frustration of contract and constructive termination and termination of probationary contract.

Seminar content of Employment of Women and Children would include: employment of women, Young Persons and Children Act; maternity benefits ordinance; relevant sections under the Factories Ordinance and the Shop and Office Act and sexual harassment.

Seminar content of Leadership and Teamwork would include: difference between a group and a team; life cycle of a team and characteristics of each stage of the life cycle; group dynamics; selecting the team; creating a shared culture; setting higher desires in the team; facilitating the growth of the team; the most wanted detachment; satisfiers (motivators) and hygienic factors; creating satisfiers and differences in individuals and satisfying all.

The resource persons conducting these seminars are: Bandula Ratnayake, Labour Consultant; Nishantha Kamaladasa, Management consultant and S H A Mohemed, Attorney-at-Law.

These seminars are half day seminars and Nihal Rangala, Director, HRD and Industrial Relation, FCCISL said that all these three seminars are half day seminars and are aimed at HR Managers and Executives, Entrepreneurs, and those wanting to acquire a comprehensive coverage and interpretation of Labor Laws and key components in Industrial Relations.
