By Sunil C. Perera - Reporting from Colombo

Colombo, 15 May, (Asiantribune.com): Principal Research Scientist on Space Applications of the Arthur C. Clerk Institute Dr. Chandana Jayaratne says the periodic comet Schawassmann- Wachmann 3 could be observed in the early morning skies from 14 to 17th of this month.

The position of the two fragmented comet is 30 degrees towards the north.

This is a comet broken into a large number of pieces in 1995.

A surprised brightness in the comet is expected today. Sri Lankans can see this double comet as a very faint object in areas of pollution free dark night sky.

The comet is visible in the star collection Cygnus.
