"No difference of opinions in BJP": Dr Lotha

Oken Jeet Sandham – Asian Tribune

Kohima, 10 May, (NEPS): Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr TM Lotha downplayed the latest political developments that sent slide tremor in political circles in the State.

Talking to NEPS here at his official residence today, the Minister, who is also Deputy Leader of the State BJP Legislature Party, made it clear that there was no difference of opinions within the BJP, which is the second largest constituent in the ruling DAN. "We will complete our full term," he asserted.

Asked if he was aware of the reported move to replace Neiphiu Rio's leadership by some NPF dissidents, he said he was not aware of such things happening. He, however, pointed out that "if anything happens within the NPF, it is their (NPF) lookout."

It may be mentioned that Rio is already at Tel Aviv with State Agriculture Minister Azo Neinu to participate the "Agritech 2006 Conference" and he will address the conference tomorrow.

In the Nagaland Assembly of 60 members, the present ruling coalition DAN has 31 NPF, 7 BJP, 2 JD (U) and 4 Independents, while the Opposition Congress has 16 members.
