EROS Condemns Bomb Blast in Colombo

London, 17 May, (Asiantribune.com): In a press release Nesan Shankar Raji, Senior Leader & spokesperson for the Eelam Revolutionary Organization (EROS) said that Eelam Revolutionary Organization (EROS) and the political wing, Eelavar Democratic Front (EDF) condemn those responsible for the latest bomb blast near Lake House in Colombo on 16th May.

In the statement Nesan Shankar Raji said “This latest attack bears all the hallmarks of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). The suicide bombers have killed 10 policemen and injured 70 others in this deadly attack.

“This latest bomb blast committed by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) demonstrates clearly to the Government in Colombo and the International community that the LTTE is still very efficient in committing deadly attacks in the heart of Colombo targeting police and military personnel and there is very little the authorities in Colombo can do to stop them.

“The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) are very resilient despite the setbacks they have faced in the East and presently in the North, something that the authorities in Colombo have failed to grasp and they are sending a clear message to the Government in Colombo, that their Eelam war is not over yet...

The Eelam Revolutionary Organization (EROS) appeals to the International community to help assist the Sri Lankan Government and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in convincing them that a settlement can never be brought forward when acts of terrorism is being continually committed and secondly if the Government of Sri Lanka only wants to resort to resolving the ethnic question militarily rather than politically and diplomatically through neutral and impartial foreign mediators. “
