Colombo, 29 May, (Asiantribune.com): The Air Force has launched three extensive attacks on identified targets of LTTE this morning. The first attack was launched on a meeting place of Tiger cadres, two kilometers north of Adampan town around 5.45 am utilizing MI 24 fighter craft.

Air force spokesman Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara said second attack was launched at a major LTTE camp in Kokavil around 6.10. Around five minutes later, the security forces launched the third attack at an LTTE military training camp located six kilometers south west of Muliyaweli in Mullaitivu.

The army and the Navy have been successful in repulsing an LTTE attack on Chirathivu Island at Jaffna lagoon. Sea tigers in six boats have attempted to attack the security forces around 2’o clock this morning. Navy media spokesman Commander P.K.P Dassanayake said three of the boats were completely decoyed by the security forces attack and 15 terrorists were killed.

Six civilians were killed in an LTTE artillery attack launched on an area in Jaffna. Another 12 persons were injured.

The LTTE has reported to have threatened Tamil civilians not to participate in a trade fair in Duriyappa stadium in Jaffna. However, people in large numbers attended the fair despite of the threats.

It is believed that the attack was carried out in revenge over the participation of more than one hundred thousand people at the final day of the fair. In the meantime , Sri Lanka Navy sunk two LTTE boats carrying fuel in the sea off Ussimukkanthurai in Mannar this morning.
