Army and Navy commenced special operations to help those affected by floods

Colombo, 02 June, (Asiantribune.com): The Army and the Navy have commenced special operations to help those affected by floods in Ratnapura, Galle and Kalutara Districts.

Navy Media Spokesman Commander D.K.P. Dassanayake told that more than 120 Naval personnel and 16 life saving boats are engaged in relief operations in Neluwa, Thawalama, Udugama, Kalawana, Hakmana and Badureliya.

The Media Centre for National Security says the Army has commenced life saving operations in Kuruvita, Nivithigala, Ayagama, Kiri Ella and Elapatha.

The Air Force Media Spokesman and Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara said an Air Force aircraft was engaged in providing relief including food to flood victims in Bulathsinghala and Kalutara.
