Former Chief Ministers will contest on UPFA ticket in the forthcoming PC election as CM candidates

Colombo, 27 June, (Asiantribune.com): Former Chief Ministers Berty Premalal Dissanayake and Mahipala Herath will be nominated by the UPFA as its chief minister candidates of the North-Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces on behalf of the United People’s Freedom Alliance. This was disclosed by the Nomination Board of the UPFA which is selecting candidates for the Provincial Council elections.

Meanwhile Election Department said accepting of nominations for the North central and Sabaragamuwa provincial council elections will commence from Friday - 27 June.

The nominations can be submitted at the district secretariat offices till the noon of 4th July.

Nominations are also accepted during the weekends. The time period for independent groups to deposit sureties for the election will conclude from the noon of 3rd of next month. Date of elections will be declared after nominations are accepted.
