24 dead bodies of LTTE recovered in Chiradikulam

Colombo, 27 June, (Asiantribune.com): Sri Lanka armed forces recovered 24 LTTE dead bodies this morning in a search and clearing operation conducted at Chiradikulam, located in the North of Vavuniya.

According to Sri Lanka Army sources, "Fierce pitched battles erupted Thursday (26) evening around 6.30 p.m. when the troops were making headway towards the north amidst resistance of the enemy. Unable to meet the challenge, Tiger terrorists who were apparently running in panic had gone on firing towards the troops indiscriminately but the troops sustained no injuries except for negligible bruises."

Reports from the Vavuniya theatre of war revealed that troops recovered 24 LTTE dead bodies in one place after confronted with LTTE which lasted just one hour. This was the first time in the Eelam War 4, troops have recovered so much of dead bodies in one place.

In the battle with the LTTE, troops were able to recover this morning 24 LTTE dead bodies, as well as 16 T56 weapon's, 1, Anti-aircraft gun 12.7, 2 RPGs and 01 lMG.
